Where to Launch Sturgeon Bay offers 5 public boat launches for convenient access to it's waters. Robert M. Carmody Park, 357 County CC in the town of Union, with a 6-lane boat launch, fishing pier, picnic area, parking and restroom facilities. New in 2005. Sawyer Park Launching Ramp, at the north end of Neenah Avenue on Sturgeon Bayıs west side, has been noted as one of the best boat launches in Wisconsin. It features six ramps, parking for 190 vehicles and trailers, two fish-cleaning stations, and rest rooms with showers. A special TV, sponsored by Charter Communications and the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament, in the Dock Masterıs building provides up-to-the-minute weather maps and conditions. A Wisconsin DNR Field Office, adjacent to the park, sells fishing licenses. Daily and annual launch passes are required. They are available at the Dock Masterıs building. Sunset Park, on the east side of North 3rd Avenue, has a two-ramp launch suitable for smaller boats that offers close access to many favorite fishing sites on the south end of the outer bay. Potawatomi State Park Launch, in Sawyer Harbor, is accessed through the park entrance, 3740 Park Drive. This multiple-ramp facility includes a fishing pier, a large surfaced parking lot with lighting, and rest rooms. A daily or yearly state park sticker is required. Old Stone Quarry Park, on County B 4.5 miles north of Sturgeon Bay, has two county-owned ramps, parking for approximately 90 vehicle-trailer combinations, and rest rooms. Offering access from the northeast end of the bay, itıs also a favorite shore fishing location for non-boaters.
